Autumn and Winter Breaks
IMAGE

The summer is unfortunately coming to an end though the weather is trying hard at present to put on a sunny face. As we move though towards autumn and winter we do not need to feel as though we are locked in at home.

Now is the time to think of those autumn and winter breaks to get yourself refreshed and invigorated and where better to go for that than North Wales. Base yourselves in Conwy or Llandudno and you will be sure of having great accommodation with a selection of wonderful hotels and top class bed and breakfast establishments to select from.

Why choose North Wales well let's give you some very good reasons.
·    The motorway links plus the A55 mean the road accessibility is first class.
·    Train links are good and regular so even if you do not drive it is easy to get here.
·    First class accommodation with prices to suit all tastes and pockets.
·    A selection of wonderful restaurants and places to eat including some of the finest fish an chip shops in the UK
·    For those people with mobility restrictions or disabilities then Llandudno is an ideal holiday base, being basically on the 'flat' between the Little Orme an Great Orme but with wonderful views out to Snowdonia and Anglesey.
·    Superb shopping with a large M & S in the town centre and a whole range of other stores as well as the recently opened "Parc Llandudno" which has a fine array of stores.
·    If shopping isn't your 'bag' (oh remember we charge 5p here in Wales for plastic bags) then there are so many other things to attract you including a wonderful promenade and perhaps one of the finest piers in the whole of the UK.
·    The Tramway which goes to the top of the Great Orme is well worth your time but check as it does not run through all of the winter, perhaps go up the Great Orme on the tramway and return down by the Cable Car with such wonderful views across the bay of Llandudno.
·    Using Llandudno as a base is such a sensible idea as it gives you easy access to so many different places such as the Snowdon mountain range and the opportunity to walk or ride up to the top of Snowdon itself, but please please remember to make sure you have the right clothing with you, even in summer the weather at the summit of Snowdon can be very inclement.
·    If you do not want to actually go up to the top of Snowdon then just a ride through the mountain range can be breath taking and in general the roads are very good and accessible with plenty of places to stop and just take in the marvellous views.
·    The Isle of Anglesey, until  recently the home of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, also has much to offer with the town of Beaumaris being well worth a visit.
·    All of this and I have not even mentioned the wonderful old town of Conwy, with its wonderful walls and historic Castle this fantastic town set on the river estuary will delight you and the Castle itself will enthral you for a whole day!

Those are just some of the reasons to visit North Wales and there are so many more that I will tell you about next time and for those who play golf then this is just paradise!

So do  not lock yourselves away this autumn and winter, find the A55 and arrive in the wonderful heart of North Wales, you won't regret it I promise you.
