Could This Be The Best Food In Llandudno?
IMAGE

Llandudno is a great place to holiday, and boasts a row of fantastic, prime hotels which all offer dining options. Yet there's more than a few of them. With 61 hotels in llandudno listed on TripAdvisor in 2016, we're aware that the choice can be too much to take! So don't resign yourself to trudging up and down this seafront resort in vain, looking for the perfect place to have traditional afternoon tea, or, in the case of days where the fantastic welsh weather demands something a little more substantial (and hot) 2-3 course meal options.

St Tudno Hotel on Llandudno's splendidly popular North Parade strikes us from outside as quite a pretty building. The signage is great and the red and gold certainly is the start of an experience that stays the same throughout this pretty hotel. It’s almost like stepping back in time; The hotel is Impeccably and fantastically presented. It is certainly an experience. It's decorated with all of the class and regality of old Victoriana, but doesn’t seem kitch or old hat. Instead, it’s unbelievably romantic. St Tudno Hotel (seemingly impossibly) gets it just right, with it’s fantastic wall murals and flowers threaded through the chandeliers. Nothing looks dated, or dingy. It's romantic - we've heard that the term is "old school cool" , and St Tudno Hotel is certainly that.

As for the dining, the St Tudno Hotel has it's very own restaurant which is part of the experience. Not to be confused with another restaurant in Llandudno of the same name, The Terrace at St Tudno has won all kinds of mainstream attention. Regional and local newspapers have all written large, complimentary pieces about St Tudno's food, and recently their fine dining have received national attention as the cheapest Michelin starred meal in Wales.

Astoundingly, the restaurant offers meals from as little as £12!  How about as a starter, a Chicken Caesar Salad, served with St Tudno’s own homemade dressing? Alternatively, Deep Fried Whitebait, served with a lemon mayonnaise leaf salad? Or a divine Goat’s Cheese Mousse, served on a cushion of micro leaves, picked beetroot, and sliced apple salad?

For your main, what about St Tudno’s own Marinated Lamb Shoulder which has been slowly braised in Welsh black bitter? It comes served on a bed of Chive Mash, finished to perfection with a Redcurrant and mint jus.

Dessert?  How does homemade sticky toffee pudding sound? St Tudno have a variety of mouthwatering pies on offer, from the aforementioned toffee pie to key lime, or even banoffee, if you’re feeling particularly decadent. There’s also a selection of biscuits served with some very authentic Welsh cheese for those that have less of a sweet tooth than others.

The staff at St Tudno are fantastic, attentive, charming, and it’s food is a real treat. Home made means home made at St Tudno, and everything is very handsomely arranged. St Tudno’s devotion and passion to food shows with absolutely every dish they prepare, and it’s a serious contender for the best food in Llandudno.
