Sci-Fi Wales Hits Llandudno!
IMAGE

Llandudno has an array of outstanding features, and has been a brilliant place to come on holiday for a number of years. Whether you’re a fan of soaking up the sun at the seaside, exploring the vast history of the area, making friends with a variety of excellent animals at Bodafon Farm Park or even venturing up the Great Orme by foot or by cable car, Llandudno has all of these exciting things to do to hand within the town. Of note in the town is the spectacular crescent shoreline, immaculately maintained and lined with an array of handsome Victorian hotels in Llandudno.

Llandudno also features Venue Cymru, the definitive place to be for live entertainment of many shapes and many forms. Featuring musical acts of no small repute such as the Manic Street Preachers, Blur and Tom Jones over recent years, as well as holding performances of Broadway musicals, ballets, and even the BANFF Outdoor Film Festival in 2016.  Even better, Venue Cymru is hosting the fantastic Sci-Fi Wales this September the 3rd.  North Wales’ premier science fiction event, Sci-Fi Wales will have celebrity guests, panels, Q&A sessions, a trader’s alley, prop displays, and professional cosplayers – as well as offering competitions, photo opportunities, and the chance to get an autograph from one of their many guests.

For August 2016, it seems that Winter is Not Coming – it’s right here. There’s a staggering five actors within the phenomenally popular TV show Game Of Thrones, all coming to Sci-Fi Wales. The Mountain That Rides – the monstrous Gregor Clegane (Ian Whyte) will be coming to Sci-Fi Wales to field your questions on what role the undead knight will play in Game of Thrones’ season 8. (Targaryen cosplayers beware!)

The Lord of Bones/Wun Wun the last giant (Ross o’hennessy) is also on-hand to talk about what goes on with the Free Folk who now follow Jon Snow, and the sinister Pyat Pree (Ian Hanmore) will also be there to talk about things further afield with beyond the Narrow Sea – and whether or not Daenerys has seen the last of the intriguing, yet terrifying group of magi that are eager to use her draconic children for their own ends.

Missed the boat on Game of Thrones, or perhaps not that concerned about it? Sci-Fi Wales also has you covered.

You’ll be happy to know that the event also hosts many more guests from so many other productions. Sci Fi Wales will be a Whovian’s paradise, with so many actors appearing from Doctor Who roles, and features actors famed for their work in productions such as Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, as well as throwbacks to the past such as Space 1999, Labyrinth, and the Dark Crystal.

There are a number of professional cosplayers attending the event as well, such as Lady Nightingale, Jessienoochies, Redwood Creations, and Darklord Cosplay – who will be available for autograph sessions as well as open panels. So how about it? Don't wait in line for in-house catering like everyone else. Just pop next door, and treat yourself to one or two of the Cae Mor's fantastic dining options. You won't regret it.
