Packing Essentials for a Staycation
IMAGE

Many more of us are opting for a staycation this year because they are much more affordable, easy to organise and you have the added bonus of not having to wait in dreaded airport queues or exchange currencies.

However, opting for a staycation means packing a little differently than if you were to go abroad. Take a look at our basic essentials that you will need for your next holiday.

Clothing and footwear

What you pack is going to depend on whereabouts you are going, whether it’s in the city or the country, and what activities you are planning to do. If you are planning a city break make sure you pack something that is comfortable but sophisticated so when you are exploring tourist hotspots like museums, your ready for an impromptu visit to a bar.

However, if you are planning a countryside getaway make sure you dig out your wellies and walking boots as well as a rain mac in case the weather takes a turn for the worst.

Bear in mind that whilst some hotels Llandudno have washing and ironing facilities some do not, so make sure you are prepared especially if what you are planning to do is going to involve getting muddy and wet.

Electronics

Opting for a staycation means that you won’t have to go digging around for your adapter plugs so all you need to remember to bring are your chargers for your devices. Or rather than spending your holiday constantly looking for the next WiFi spot, ditch your devices altogether and enjoy a tech-free holiday.

Kitchen Essentials

Whether you have booked Llandudno hotels or a B&B the likelihood that you are going to be doing much cooking is slim. However, if you are opting for a staycation in a holiday cottage, for instance, you may need to consider bringing a few kitchen essentials with you such as food, spices and things to wash up with, but always check ahead.

Toys & Games

Travelling with children can be hard, and that’s no different when opting for a staycation. Yes, you no longer have to deal with children getting bored waiting to board a flight, but make sure you banish the boredom on your staycation too by thinking ahead and bringing some much-loved toys and games with you. Board games are brilliant for the whole family on a particularly wet day and if you are staying close to the seaside, don’t forget to pack wetsuits, bucket and spades and even bodyboards.

Emergency Kit

It is important when travelling to pack a few emergency supplies, not only basic medication and plasters but also torches, candles and matches in case you have a blackout.

Remember, it is always good to check ahead so that you don’t pack your bag with everything BUT the kitchen sink when it’s already there for you.
