Great Orme and Other Things to Do in Llandudno

Llandudno is an iconic coastal town on North Wales' Mid Wales coast. It is best known for North Shore Beach which boasts of white sandy beaches that extend for several miles. Further inland, the Haulfre Gardens and the East Shore centers of seaside amusements. To the west, steep cliffs of the Great Orme lead which can be reached by the famous Great Orme Tramway.


To get to Llandudno from its famous coastal resorts, you can hire a car or taxi. But if you're more comfortable with public transport, you can either catch a bus or train to explore other areas surrounding Llandudno. One thing you must do in Llandudno is visit the various pubs, bars, and restaurants. The oldest is still around, but the newer bars and restaurants are also excellent places to drink.


Stay at one of the many Llandudno hotels on Llandudno's seafront, where you'll be met with fantastic views over Llandudno's Pier. There are many lodgings in Llandudno ranging from chic boutique hotels to cosy self catering cottages. The pier is also popular with visitors, who can use it to view the latest visitor attractions. 


Looking for a quieter break in Llandudno, why not try the Promenade? The Promenade runs along the whole length of Llandudno Bay and offers some panoramic views of the coastline, the bay and beyond. There are also lots of hotels and other accommodation to be found here, with some offering special packages for groups staying at one of their properties.


Whilst you're in the area why not visit the Great Orme Tramway. This tramway runs along the entire length of Llandudno Bay, passing through many tourist hotspots including the promenade, Happy Valley and the villages of Porth Wen and Conwy. The trams leaves and arrives at the end of each line. This is the preferred mode of passage for those going to Llandudno from the capital of Wales, as it gives a wonderful scenic view over the surrounding scenery and the bay.


If you're looking for more energetic activities like water sports, fishing and other games and activities like walking then Llandudno has plenty to offer. There are many tourist attractions here to keep you occupied. You can also visit the castles in the surrounding area including the famous Conwy Castle or Caernarfon Castle which is just a short drive or train ride away.


Looking for things to do with the family? Head to one of the many beaches, or the seaside amusements and rides. Or, if you are up for an adventure why not participate in the Alice in Wonderland trail where you and your little ones can discover the bronze statues of the famous characters at Llandudno's hotspots.
